ABOUT KINOEYE

"A photograph is a most important document..." - Mark Twain

Starting at Georgia State University with a major concentration in Film & Video, Adar Shamayam began his foray into photography as a Director of Photography on various movie projects - heavily influenced by Classical Hollywood and Auteur Cinema. It was there where he realized how an image doubles as both an expression and a document, and also where he studied the origins of how icons became the most influential tool in the world. After graduating college he returned to his native New York City, where he naturally experienced the transition into fashion photography in a fashion saturated market.

Adar finds satisfaction in the immersive storytelling that both the still and motion picture medium allow. His inspiration is drawn from the contrast (and similarities) between the lines found in nature and in architecture, which is where his mostly wide, cinematographic compositions stem from.

Presently, he travels regularly between Los Angeles, Honolulu, and New York for work, media-related events, and networking.
